“The key factor of our life, I believe, is
warmheartedness—compassion.
If that’s there, even sleep is very peaceful.
Without it, we suffer even in our dreams.”
– His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama
In a world of intensifying climate upheaval and war, the Dalai Lama’s message has never been more urgent.
In 2022, at the Mind & Life Dialogue he broke from academic dialogue to deliver a striking, unscripted plea:
"Now, time has come to think about humanity on this planet. No longer my nation, my community. We must think more broadly."
This project is our answer to that call—an immersive experience to rediscover our shared humanity.
Warmheartedness is not a lecture. It is a sanctuary—a cosmic stupa for the digital age.
Inspired by ancient contemplative architecture designed to transform those who enter, this installation uses quadraphonic sound and generative light as its building blocks.
Here, technology serves stillness. The space itself becomes the teacher.
Step inside. Let the analytical mind rest. What remains is presence.
The score for Warmheartedness is not just background music; it is a physical, breathing environment.
Born from immersive improvisation sessions at the Our Silent Canvas "Apollo 37" studio, experimental electronic duo Nous Alpha projected the Dalai Lama’s voice into a quadraphonic room, treating his presence as the lead instrument.
The result is a texture-heavy hybrid of acoustic instruments and modular synthesis—a living dialogue between ancient wisdom and modern sound.
Created by an international team of visual artists, the imagery of Warmheartedness is designed to bypass the analytical mind.
Using fluid dynamics and generative processes, the visuals evoke organic growth, interconnectedness, and the natural world—visualizing the energy of compassion rather than depicting it literally.
Warmheartedness is a project of Our Silent Canvas, created with audio from His Holiness the Dalai Lama by direct permission from His Holiness's office.
